Mandanda and Lloris are good young goalkeepers, but Frey is on a different level. Frey is already one of the best keepers in the world and i honestly rate him on par or close to Casillas,Buffon,Cech.

He has been out of this world for Fiorentina these past couple of seasons.

That’s well put, Michel-Olivier. I agree with all those who think Domenech should have picked Frey, even if we have 3 goalkeepers right now who are all of the highest caliber.

I saw the Arsenal game on Saturday: Clichy, Sagna and especially Nasri, who scored the only goal, in his EPL debut, all did well; Gallas was OK. Nasri didn’t appear troubled by his reported injury earlier in the week.

Frey is not on the list since the Italian league has yet to start, and that is the reason Domenech did not call him up.

But does someone want to explain why Boumsong and Govou are on the list once again??? Are they really going to be the corner stone of Les Bleus for the World Cup????

For what its worth, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Platini is supposed to have told Domenceh two weeks ago (after seeing Fiorentina’s 3-1 ‘friendly’ defeat of Barcelona) that he thinks Domenech should make Frey his number 1 goalkeeper.
