France

New FIFA rankings: France is 4th?

Well, the new FIFA rankings are out. The results (or at least the only ones I care about):

1. Brazil
2. Italy
3. Argentina
4. France

Hmm. I’m questioning their ranking criteria. Let’s think about this:

France vs. Brazil. How did that last matchup end? Oh, right. France won.
France vs. Italy. How did THAT last matchup end? Oh, I remember! France won.
France vs. Argentina? That one is coming up on February 7. Mark your calendars. Should be a great game. (France will win.) ;-)

And yes, Brazil, Italy and Argentina fans, I’m just trying to get a rise out of you as I head off for a boring (wait, did I say boring? What I meant by that was: THRILLING) Thanksgiving with the relatives. Enjoy the holiday!

Guess which team doesn’t belong. Starts with an A and ends in tina. It just jumps out at you.

    Allez

  • BIB

so in your opinion France should be number 1 in the world, in your dreams. I think if France had been more convincing in the Group stage at WC2006 things would be different. Brazil’s been number 1 for like 100 years and that will never change. so except it and move on.

  • luca

It’s not that France should be #1 but how in the world can Argentina be ranked 3? They have been nothing short of brutal in the past year or so.

Really it’s not that big a deal, no-one places much credence on Fifa’s Rankings anyway.

    Allez

  • SAM

    BRazil sucks
    Italy sucks and stinks

  • luca

    Sam you write beautifully.

  • fab

argentina do well when it counts

confed cup finalists as well as the most attractive team in the world cup

france wins 1-0 and is boring as hell to watch

i guess you guys take your freindlies serious tho like the english do

  • luca

fab …”argentina do well when it counts” did you not hear the news about the last 5 World Cups?

Anyway like I said no-one pays attention to Fifa. Everyone knows the top five are Brazil France Italy Germany and Spain.

    Same old European Domination.

    Allez

Luca, Argentina: 2 WCs, France: 1 WC and a headbutt. Now Stfu and go eat snails.

  • luca

Hey Kevin…i’m having snails on Saturday as a matter of fact with a fine bottle of wine.

I can only guess you are an old timer or had to google the last time Argentina won a WC. Either way good for you.

Crack open a pepsi, boil a fine hotdog and watch black and white video of the last time Arg. was relevant in a WC.

    Allez.

  • france!

Luca, this clip is for you. Some great memories from our great french team, enjoy!=)

SAM i think you suck and definitely stink, go wipe your arse buddy.

  • http://france.theoffside.com Sam

Just so there’s no confusion, the SAM who wrote that is not I, Sam, the writer for France Offside.

Argentina underperforms, with the talent they have they should be n. 3, but with the results they get they shouldn’t. And I don’t care who does, it I want Brazil out of number 1.

  • luca

    I didn’t enjoy that video.

  • Goddy

Hey just cause France beat a few good teams once it makes up only for a bit, they take in to consideration the whole year’s performance of a team not just a few matches.

  • luca

    I think that

  • azzurro
