Laurie, I know it’s the weirdest of facts, but Materazzi, even though a defender, was the top scorer of the Italian team…

Recently, I was watching a Inter video where Materazzi scored a goal his usual way, with a high pass from the corner. It’s funny, isn’t that reminiscent of a classy French player we all know?… (He doesn’t compare in other areas, of course…)

As much as I’m sure they appreciate your support, Laurie, and I think it’s just adorable, I only voted for Juninho in your list of Bleus/Ligue 1ians. I voted for a whole lotta Italians though. Sorry but Matterazzi and Cannavarro are better. Yep, now I’ll just wait for you to strut up to Edmonton and shoot me. Peace!

French and Italian and Brazilian, I think. It pays to make it to the World Cup final. (Or to be Brazil.) I am basking in this because everything changes with Euro 2008 and World Cup 2010, when I will probably have to accept scraps with the rest of the hoi polloi.
