Watching Slovakia-France on Wednesday
I’ve found one source for viewing the Slovakia-France game tomorrow, and that’s JumpTV. Alas, no, it’s not free, but in my opinion the prices are reasonable. $6.95 to watch one game live (and for the next 24 hours), or $2.95 to watch one game deferred, starting at about an hour after the final whistle and continuing for 24 hours. (You can also buy a $7.95 24-hour pass for all games, just in case you’re also dying to see, say, San Marino vs. Cyprus.)
If anybody has links to free viewing, plese post them in the comments. I usually pay because I don’t like the uncertainty of the free sites, but they do have their place.
If you’re viewing through JumpTV, be sure to go to the site early to sign up for your account, and don’t forget the time difference. It’s giving me a Pacific time of 12:00 noon, and they’ve always been right before. (Tell me if this doesn’t sound right to you!)
Enjoy!

Oh Laurie, I’m soorry I didn’t see that earlier but you could have watched the game for free on TF1
here’s the link http://www.tv-du-monde.com/tf1_live.htm
sorry

Thierry Henry’s goal was despicable. He has no class, taking the free kick before the whistle. Just like Giggs… Anyways, what did you guys think? Did Henry and Anelka play well together? I thought they were fine, but I’m still waiting to see Trezeguet-Anelka.

It is the rule in this case which are despicable. This kind of goal always pluzzes me. Because you need the referee’s complicity: he should ask you(striker) if you want the wall at 9m15(in this case, shoot at whistle) or not(when you want). The fact is i don’t remember a little team ever did this to a big, always the contrary thing. Morever the serpent’s tongues could say that this rule could let some “agreements” possible like say RayRay. At least this referee didn’t turn back the player, let them think he move to place the wall, like For Lille MU. Of course you could argue that the defender team(Slovakia) already made an anti play big fault, had placed a player to stop the ball, and balked to put the wall correctly, so… Althought,it wasn’t so easy to score than the Giggs one, in the empty cage.
Henry confessed that he has a lack of competition(he doesn’t play since 6 month, just an half match with Barça. He doesn’t play very well.
Anelka as usually excellent, great class.
Ribery apparently suffered from a shock he received at training.
Makélélé play all the match, enormous like Mexes(seem suffered from his adducteurs at the end).Abidal,Evra good. Viera good. Malouda, Clerc, ordinary.
The problem Trezeguet. In my opinion Domenech know he is a good player. But the fact we have mediocre pass makers oblige our forward to take down from their position in order to take the ball and to have a great mobility on the pitch. And these are not the quality of Trezeguet who is more a pure poacher. The association Trez-Anelka one year ago against the same slovakia wasn’t so good. If Viera, Ribery, Malouda decide to become great play makers and to be more applicated in their pass, surely Trez would be very effective. But for the moment we don’t have the player to make him shine.
A last thing who borried me , i don’t know if you have see it but each time there is a counter position, the player who have the ball(especially Henry but Ribery or Malouda too, don’t take the risk of the last dead pass or to the acceleration, they just keep the ball and wait, the defenders take their place and we have again a static situationn of Attack defense where we are bad.

I have not seen the game yet! For reasons unrelated to desire to watch, I ended up watching Landon Donovan in the US game and David Beckham in the England game. Today I’m sitting down to watch France. (Although I have read how it ended, so you guys didn’t spoil it for me.)

I thought France played a great match, and although Henry may have scored a cheap goal, I still think they deserved the victory. I thought Anelka played amazingly, and I think he should keep his spot in Italy v. France. Hopefully France will keep up their hot streak and Italy will lose as badly as they did to Hungary!

The truth is I was tottally shocked when giggs scored against Lille. And their defense was “Thierry henry did it ot us”. Thierry Henry is a smart player who knows every rule of football and uses them. Like when he tried to get Pires to give him a pass on a penalty “a la Cruyff” against Manchester City a few years ago.
You can see him talking to the ref who asks him and he says no and just scores. Lille players were disgusted but what you need to do is talk with the ref before the game starts. This needs to happen in the semi finals of the world cup for the fifa to really take notice.
I like the game. ANELKA was gigantic and Henry was in good enough shape. I think we won’t have problems against the italians.

Yes, of course Thierry Henry is smart, but is it really necessary to score goals like that in a friendly?

You could download the torrent of it off of fbtz.com.

If you live in Switzerland you can download zattoo – a digital-computer based tv with over 30 channels from the entire world. I watch many games on those.
They’re planning on making zattoo international.
Btw, this is Jan from the Switzerland blog, ![]()
allez la France, my favourite team after Switzerland and Holland!

Well, after his less than spectacular performance for France A’, David Trezeguet scored a hat trick for Juventus today against Livorno! Hopefully, Domenech is paying attention!

Now that Materazzi is injured, anyone think that Zidane will be called up to play against Italy?
