Training camp

The French squad are training in the alpine resort of Tignes before their game with Mexico on Saturday in Paris.

Even though we’re almost in June there’s still some snow on the ground close to where the players are working out judging by the photos I’ve seen.

Looking at the forecast for tomorrow, Tignes should be reaching a high of 16C/64F, not bad conditions for a little light training.

It’ll be interesting what team Domenech choose’s to play against Mexico, trying to get that balance between getting a good result and giving a lot of the squad some game time.

The team leave Tignes on Friday and head for Clairefontaine but if you fancy catching some football in the resort the EuroBeach Soccer League is holding an event on 28-30 July. Then again you may be footballed out by that time.

Chriso, I think that Domenench will go down with the 11 that would be strating against Switzerland at least in the first half. He would then change tactics and palyers in the second half I must presume. Do you agree? Apart from a good result what I really wish to see is teamwork, fighting spirit and creating chances for goal which I have not been seeing in the French team for quite a long time now.

If I am a France fan I wouldn’t be too thrilled with the way things are shaping up at their mountain training camp. At least no one has been gassed in their sleep in the last 24 hours. I think France will dissapoint one more time in the wordl cup, the bis stars are getting older and theres no consistency in the team. The one i pay respect and will always do, its Henry. Mexico will win teh friendly and prove that are more prepared than the french.

Doesn’t seem like yesterday since the World Cup final, but I bet France wish they’d pounded the Tignes mountains just that little bit harder now..
