that was quite unfortunate.. france played better than the two previous games.
but still if domenech pick up more suitable players, there's a chance that france will go to the next round.
oh well.. let's see in euro 2012

  • JPierre >:(

poor Gourcuff and Toulalan. They deserved to score a goal and better teammates. Poor Lloris too, and poor me and poor other french fans. i will still support france for those mentioned. but now they are out i think i will watch germany.

shame on Anelka, Domenech, Evra, and other adults who act even more childish than me, my little brother and my sisters stupid cat.

  • Lisabelisa7

I hate the organised idiot Dominico, he has no heart for France.

  • Lisabelisa7

He thinks he will control France as his own home, in fact he is a wise fool

French players forgot that THEY WERE AT THE WORLD CUP !!!

do everything possible to play, not to strike and boycott. I hope Evra and the mutineers are happy now. They won't be welcomed back to France except by those cheering against Les Blues…

Laurent Blanc may forgive some of them for wasting their WORLD CUP!!! but I certainly wouldn't. Start from scratch, Le President… this tournament is finished, but ALLEZ LES BLEUS in 2012… hope to see all-new faces…

The match is behind us. It seemed like a good last chance to reward the fans but it turned into a disappointing loss thanks to a referee tour de force. Gourcuff’s red aside, we did not deserve to win.

France’s offensive play is predictable. They cannot surprise or innovate. The lack of leadership leads to many lost balls in midfield. The defence is shaky. There is no need to blame now, but it’s obviously the result of the last few skirmishes in the squad
I’ve been a fan of the French team for 28 years. I remember the disappointment of not qualifying to the final in 82. I remember losing to Bulgaria in 93 and the failure to reach the US WC. Nothing could have prepared us for this year’s horribly twisted and heart-breaking finale.

The FFF needs new faces. Laurent Blanc will start from scratch and the foundation is there for him to work with. His insistence on discipline could potentially lead him to find new players to work with. I hope the FFF knows he’s the only boss. Any intrusions and he might leave.

I know we all want to let our feelings show. I prefer to stay calm and figure things out in the next few weeks. This chapter is over. Let’s write a new one

I saw a few good things today. Ribery's ego was broken ergo he was not selfish in his play. Cisse was hearty on the frontline. Defense was in shambles though. If Gourcuff was still on then we may have tied. But I did not us to win this game because the time to rebuild is now. I am very excited for Blanc's reign.

  • Karob

maybe the cheating by Henry came back to haunt a cowardly team…viva la france

  • Karob

if it had stayed 11 versus 11 france would have won.the line up was better today with gourcff and ribery on both flanks

france easily have the most talent of teams in the group, but if you dont play as a team bad things happen.

I have to say the sending off was harsh and it was accidental.

the team needs a complete overhaul, we need to bridge cultural divides in the camp and between players and the federation. we need a strong group of leaders who unite not divide.

For me the captain should be a leader like toulalan not evra.

  • Spanish Fly

A much-deserved exit. What is the worst follow-up performance ever for a finalist? I can't imagine anything could compete with this lackluster showing by a bunch of diving, handballing crybabies. Maybe they were all anxious to get home to don their berets and go watch the re-release of “À bout de souffle.”

  • Jean-Michel

Well the nightmare is finally over..Get these cowards a first class ticket the hell outta there and then promptly revoke their French citizenship. JPierre >:( I agree with you on Toulalan and Gourcuff even though Gourcuff never really showed up.

  • Jean-Michel

France shouldve sent the under 21 team. They could have had better results.

  • Spanish Fly

Agreed. England is learning the same lesson (as the US has before in basketball). The biggest players will usually get you the biggest egos and most drama, not the best team.

france has fielded brilliant, winning teams in 2 eras – platini and zidane, imperious no 10's. platini had fernandez, amoros, tresor, tigana and the like in support. zidane had deschamps, desailly, thuram, makalele, viera, and other strong leaders in support as well. in between, some brilliant players – papin, cantona, ginola – and terrible, under achieving teams. france have been shambolic since zidane's retirement, and the fading of the 98 generation.

as has been the case for many decades now, the talent pool is still the envy of everyone save brazil, argentina and perhaps spain at the moment. does anyone see a zidane/platini on the horizon, and a supporting cast? as for the latter, toulalan, lloris come to mind. who will be leading les bleus in 12 and 16 – anyone??

  • Geojean97

  • M Barbon

why do they think they are that good and where is the sportmanship? Unthinkable to not shake hands after the match, good show COACH
